About Our Kansas City Family Nurse Practitioner

Meet Laura Lindsay,
APRN-C

To Laura, nothing beats being able to help people every day be healthier and happier. It’s one of the many rewards of her work as a family nurse practitioner in Kansas City, and she enjoys seeing the progress her patients make toward better lives after alcohol and opioid addiction. She excels at building trusting relationships and guiding patients toward recovery, and she can’t wait to help you or your loved one!

Why Did You Become a Family Nurse Practitioner?

Kansas City family nurse practitioner Laura Lindsay

Unfortunately, Laura knows firsthand the devastating impact that certain substances can have. Her first husband was tragically killed in an alcohol-related accident at the lake. After she was able to push through this tragedy in her own life, she was grateful for the support and love from those around her, and she realized that she needed to shift her career in medical sales to nursing, where she could help people every day. Ever since, she has never regretted this decision!

Where Did You Study Nursing?

In her previous career, Laura attended Johnson County Community College, Washburn University, and the University of Phoenix, ultimately earning an MBA. After her first husband’s death, she completed an accelerated nursing program at Research College of Nursing and pursued more education at Maryville University, earning her Certified Family Nurse Practitioner degree.

In total, she has more than 11 years of nursing experience, and she has worked nearly 5 years of that time as a family nurse practitioner. She opened B&L Medical Group, LLC in April 2024 because she knew she wanted to give everything to helping patients and their loved ones through addiction treatment with medical solutions toward sustainable results.

What Do You Like to Do Outside the Clinic?

Laura is now happily remarried with one daughter. In addition to spending time with her family, friends, and two dogs, she stays active through going to the gym, swimming, yoga, walking, and doing various home projects. She loves to travel and relax at the Lake of the Ozarks.
